The Lazy 8 Decision

As most of you have probably heard, the Sparks City Council denied the Lazy 8 resort permission to place a casino in Spanish Springs. Without taking sides on the placement of the casino, I am surprised by the city council’s decision. I listened to many people speak for and against the casino and one thing really stood out for me. It sounded quite clear that the city council had entered a contractual agreement with the Lazy 8 back in 1994 that the 2006 city council is not willing to honor. I really hope this doesn't end badly for the city of Sparks.
